Soft Cap on Gem Shard Vendor?

Postby lashenya » Wed Jun 20, 2012 8:38 pm

So everyday I log in it seems the amount of gold per gem shard seems to have increased overnight. Just yesterday when I logged off on league Yul side it was 7.22g per gem shard. If someone wants to purify an epic it is around 722g for 100gpots just to do that. It is increasing everyday and I heard a rumor that is soft caps around 25g per gem shard... if that is true it will eventually cost 2500g just to purify your epic.

Now for an average player to grind that much gold in koe it would take roughly 2hrs depending on the green drops to purify the epic. I am talking only a epic purify scroll from the CS here.. If someone wanted to make 1 level 4 rune.. it will eventually cost them 18,750g (25g per gem shard x 750gpots).

I think if NA wants to try and keep their "free to play" aspect there needs to be a soft cap around 5g per gem shard. If the gem shard price keeps increasing like it has been... it will be a huge turn off for current players and anyone trying to level a character without using real $$$ I say GOOD LUCK to them 8-)

Any other thoughts or suggestions on the Gem shard npc? Hopefully this doesn't break forum rules. :D Just trying to start a good discussion ^_^

I agree with this. The gem shard prices are disgusting. And this is coming from a person who doesnt mind spending a fair amount of money on this game. It cost me 1.2k just to purify 2 pieces of gear.

Even if they want to make more money this truly does destroy the purpose of being able to buy gem shards when it is unrealisticly high to buy anything that we do need. Even Russia has to understand this. Would it be possible to cap the gem shard prices at 5.5g or something? Would it even be possible to reset the prices right now to something like 4.5g?

It won't be done. In Russia, gem shard prices skyrocketed to over 20 gold according to rumors, and they're only going to keep growing here.

If you didn't get it by now, you're not supposed to play this game with ingame gold, but with gpots.
Might as well remove gold/silver/copper as a currency and have everything drop really small amounts of gemshards.

I don't know how many of you have ever really played other f2p games, but the fact that Allods even offers an in-game gold->gem shard converter is extraordinary.

Much better than having websites selling 100,000g for $5 ruining the economy.

kane, you're pointing out the worst case scenario..which i say is highly unlikely to happen in a game like allods..

but back to the point... before the gem shard vendor, the gpot:gold ratio was 1:3.. now it is around 7.5g:1 gpot/gem shard.. that too within a few months of its launch... this has caused hyperinflation (as predicted)

i have to agree with the OP's point but it being implemented seems like a fool's dream..

Allods used to have gold spammers, I remember having my ignore list full of spambots.
