I use Steam overlay usually, and the problem persists in the in-game overlay as well. (i.e. shift + tab to chat with a friend, and all I see is "wwwwwww" etc)
I have launched the game itself both with and then without steam twice, and the problem persists in both instances. The problem does NOT persist when at desktop, game running or not.
I have ran a full file scan through the launcher, and it has found no corrupted files. The last thing I want to do is totally reinstall my client to log back in after hours of downloading to find the problem is still there. I'm running a full virus scan now, maybe its some sort of virus? I've yet to see anyone else with this issue, so I'm assuming this is a 'unique' problem I'm experiencing. Any help/confirmation of the issue from whomever would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
*edit After a full scan, no virus' found. Yesterday, on the 5th, I played 2 hours straight with this issue, although much less significant in scale. I then had my timely 2-hour client crash. Now, on the 6th, the game is unplayable, constantly in forward motion and unable to type coherent sentences. I'm beginning to think this is either a problem from maintenance, or from server-side lag? Though I'm not sure server lag would affect steam overlay chat... awaiting any thoughts. When I return from my Easter break on Tuesday (and if I'm still having the issue) I will post a video of it.
*yet another update =(
I've discovered this is an issue within other games as well, so the problem is with my computer somehow and not specifically AO. Tried Killing Floor and I experience that slow "w" forward movement. Disreguard thread (unless anyone has any ideas what it could be... to google I suppose).
