Torwin, I believe warriors have higher single target dps than pallys.

Pallys needs a buff hope they get it soon in a patch.

Warriors have a higher MELEE-ranged single target DPS. When you guys have to fight a mob that's made of lava and gives you cancer if you touch it, the Paladins will win!!!

Paladin tanks have a much more casual time holding threat at range, HOORAY.

(Shame most bosses do not require such a mechanic).

What Torwin means was that Pallys are better for single-target tanking. Which is absolutely true. Their barriers are great for mitigating massive 1mill+ hits.

Though, with fancy elixirs and a FoD, warriors can tank Nav better so it seems. Higher magic resist or something, who knows.

Warriors, on the whole, have higher single target dps. Cant disagree with that, in fact I didnt.

I still think in 90% of scenario's, Paladin tanks are GODS of single target tanking. There is always going to be the other 10% though.....

lvling
paladins don't need CA so they do the couple big hits to kill small mobs quicker

tanking
paladins do well with single target high damage dealing bosses. However also have rubies that encourage aoe options. 18% more dmg on everything when 3 or more mobs...and aoe ability that spreads dot. All of that and being able to use entirely ranged magic abilities (meaning no dodge's) makes for less frustration. Combine with barriers able to completely null out giant hits instantly or return it (and then some) to the boss is a nice touch. Paladins suck when it comes to passive damage mit. Stacking buff for rubies increasing end and agi is only thing noteworthy. The buff only proc's on parries (2h tank ftw?) so it's effectiveness is reduced.

warriors have a all threat increased button and endless passives to not only increase dodgeparryblock but also reward you when it happens (CA rubies)

summed up...paladins singletarget tank..warriors aoe tank. Yes both can do both...but with some difficulties depending on situation.

DPS

not gonna touch it...i'd say both the same...but others would gladly write up a storm of opposite beliefs

If you'll put a Pally tank and a Warrior tank face to face, usually the paladin doesn't have a chance. That's from my own experience :))

Still remain unconvinced. Warriors would simply dodge/block/parry that hit. Too many situations where passive mitigation just blows pally barriers out of the water and the converse is true. I wouldn't say pallies are bad at tanking, I am just convinced they aren't better. Citizen's second statement gives him away.

I don't know if you've tried nav yet, but... it's 100% magic damage, and she has some interesting CC etc... That's one boss which we prefer warrior tanks for, and even then, they needed a nav-specific spec. (magic resist rubies and might over magic, etc, etc) For other bosses though, such as Sarn, we prefer a paladin.

I'm not denying that warriors have an overall edge, I'm just saying pallys have their niche uses as well.
