Righteous word

Hi i'm making a dps paladin and was wondering if there's any point of leveling Righteous Word past lvl 1, because all I really need it for is to do increased damage but the only thing that lvl with it is the first time upon casting.

It's more useful for tanks as it's the main aggro generator.
For dps it may be used to pull enemies from far away, otherwise I'd skip it.

Really? I thought it would be an important talent to put at leas 1 skill into for a dps since it increases your damage by 100% or whatever

It increases threat by 100% not your damage.

Yeah, I just read that somewhere so basically its for tanking then and is utterly useless for dps.

It's got decent DPS in it of itself, but the threat will get you killed

Yeah it does got decent dps and you coul increase it crit hit chance by 50% but i generate too much threat and i pull mobs from far far away. Thinking of dropping it but not sure yet. With that skill i might be able to off tank but i doubt it

You will probably pull against a tank with it even without the threat rubies. For comparable threat, just double your DPS and compare it to the tank's x4 to get a general ballpark comparison.

Now this one I have noticed.

Even though Sacred Sunrise + Shining Sword does not activate the extra damage from Sacred Sunrise even though Shining Sword says it deals a weapon strike of ???? to ???? holy damage.....

Sacred Sunrise + Righteous Word will. I have seen the extra damage from Sacred Sunrise come out when you follow up Sacred Sunrise with RW.

If you don't want the AoE that Anathema deals, but you want to deal the extra damage from Sacred Sunrise on a single target ...... then simply do a SS + RW on a single target.

I find this useful when killing mobs 1 by 1. From a distance do a SS + RW on one mob, and boom less than 50% HP before it comes running after you and his other mob companions don't even notice it even if they are shoulder to shoulder, side by side.

And if i am not mistaken, RW costs less energy and has shorter CD than Anathema. So you may also want it for Pvp.

Its a phy spell that inflicts holy dmg
