3.0 Brief Endgame Guide [questions answered]

Welcome to my updated endgame guide! This guide's purpose is to provide new endgame warriors with strong endgame builds. If you're an endgame warrior and are looking for a new build, this quick list will hopefully be helpful to you.

Note: this guide is entirely unhelpful to a new warrior. If you're a new warrior looking to learn about our class, or if you're a leveling warrior looking for detailed information, tips, and tricks about our class, Maylieene has written an outstanding and detailed guide which I recommend you read.

Without further ado, here are my latest thoughts on level 51 final builds. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. I will do my best to reply quickly.

Builds:
These builds assume level 51 with 50 rubies. That's 3 extra rubies, which should be fairly easy to get at end-game (first two mage pages, judge/juggernaut, gem quest, GT rubies). I have tried to keep the requirements relatively accessible to most dedicated end-game players.

PvE DPS A, PvE DPS B. If you have extra rubies, grab Heavy Hitter r3 or Master of Agony for more DPS, Augmented Armor or Rugged Fighter for survivability, or Hack or the Bash rubies for PvP.

PvP DPS A, PvP DPS B. One has the 8s fear, the other doesn't. If you have extra rubies, grab Hack ranks, Bash rubies, or the Finesse ruby on the Jagged grid.

PvE Full Tank, PvP Full Tank. If you have extra rubies, grab bleed rubies for more DPS, the 8s fear or Hack for PvP, or Augmented Armor r2 for survivability.

Hybrid Tank. If you have extra rubies, grab Augmented Armor (x2) for more survivability. To make this build more tanky, try to work in a Block ruby instead of Golden Blade r2 and Augmented Armor r2.

My current build (PvP Disable Spec) for those who are curious. I can afford nearly all the CC and DPS rubies. This build requires all the talent scrolls, GT rubies, Nihaz ruby, all the mage pages, judge/juggernaut, and the gem quest.

Blue talents are essential for all builds

Endgame and Astral Stats:
These are the stat balances you want to aim for.

  • A4 Offensive Stats:
    Fin: 15%-20%
    Exp: 12%-14%
    Luck: 60%-65%
    Str: 750+
  • A5 Offensive Stats:
    Fin: 20%-25%
    Exp: 10%-12%
    Luck: 65%-70%
    Str: 850+
  • A6 Offensive Stats:
    Fin: 25%-30%
    Exp: <10%
    Luck: 70%+
    Str: 950+
  • A7 Offensive Stats:
    Fin: 30%
    Exp: 8%
    Luck: 75%
    Str: 1050+
  • Defensive Stats:
    Agi: 22% - If you're a tank, aim for 25% or more.
Stam: As much as you can afford. If you're a tank, aim for 1mil hp fully buffed.
End: 20% or more chance to receive a glance. For PvP you want 25% or more chance to receive a glance.

Here are a few protips regarding stats:

  1. You want a stat balance that scales with your gear:
This is especially important if you have a Vial of Life. Start with low exp/fin/luck gear, and pump stats into those. Then, as you gear up and your exp/fin/luck become higher, move the stats into str.
  2. It's important to take advantage of stat rubies:
Warriors have no luck rubies, but have rubies for all our other important stats. Take advantage of this by gearing and pumping stat points into exp/fin/str to get the bonus stats from your rubies. Elixir and Alc pot stats don't give you bonus stat points from your rubies, so you can raise your luck with consumables.
  3. You want a stat balance that works both with and without elixirs and pots. Here is how I achieve this:
My exp/fin always remain the same - my gear/VoL leaves them at the perfect amount. When I run with elixirs and pots I use a Luck elixir, Str pot, and put my patron in Str. When I run without elixirs and pots I put my patron in Luck. This way my Luck stays consistent, and all I lose is Str. My damage scales purely through strength (consistent, predictable) and not through missing more or critting less (unpredictable).

Thanks! I'm glad you like it :)

I don't want to include too much detailed information, because at the end of the day, people really just want to see builds. That said, the warrior class can be surprisingly intricate and complex. If you want to learn more about some of the finer points of playing a warrior, you should check Maylieene's guide.

Options for getting the "3 extra rubies" include: mage pages, judge/juggernaut ruby, gem quest ruby, GT rubies, any 3.0 world mystery ruby, or great mage bonus ruby.

3 extra rubies is reasonable for any player who wishes to compete at end-game. If you farm a few thousand gold, PvP consistantly, and/or raid, you'll get more than 3 fairly easily.

I made these builds before reading about the rage changes... I will try to incorporate more rage rubies, as they will be really important for PvP.

imho you can't call it a true pvp build without at least r1 hack.

Any opinion on Stalwart Defense or Enchanted Armor for tanks?

Do you have one for AOE Tank? I see full tank not sure if that will have strong AOE or not. I currently have 2 points into Sweeping Strike and 3 into Malicious Blow.

you only need 3 skills for aoe tanking.

Stalwart Defense is a great skill, but surprisingly it's stronger in PvP than in PvE. In PvE you should be doing enough DPS to hold aggro off of your top DPSers. And, even if you're not, you can always tell them to slow down. In PvP though, Stalwart is incredible. Apply it to a class which gets a lot of player-aggro, and enjoy being able to spam taunts!

In terms of Enchanted Armor... I need to update my ruby grid image to include that as a tank ruby. I haven't tested it much recently, but now that Agility can block magic attacks, I don't imagine those rubies are as important as dodge/block/parry rubies. More time/testing will tell.

As metryinghard said, all you need to AOE tank are cruelty, malicious blow, and either Vicious Whirlwind or Sweeping Strike. All of the tank builds in my guide can AOE tank. It's up to you to determine how much survivability / dps you need, and to then choose whether you go full tank or hybrid tank.

Malicious blow is a must, but I personally prefer Whirlwind to the shield AOE, as it does more damage via it's bleeds. Also, it seems to have a bigger area of effect than the shield AOE.

One thing to note is that when you reach 5 stacks of Impenetrable Barrier (the MB buff), your shield aoe will doe AOE knockdown. For this reason, I spec r1 shield AOE.

metryinghard wrote:imho you can't call it a true pvp build without at least r1 hack.

Hack is nice, but not necessary. I actually used to think every warrior PvP build needed hack, but my opinion has changed.

The key to Warrior PvP is massive burst damage. If we can reach an enemy, and knock them down, we can usually kill them in just a few seconds. Now that everybody can afford Flawless Blow r3, hack becomes a waste of energy / time, as we should be using FB whenever possible.

Sure, hack helps us avoid being kited. But unless you rank it up to r2 / r3, you won't be using FB as much. Imo r2 or r3 hack becomes a waste of rubies, and we're better off getting extra finesse / bash rubies for PvP. I'd much rather silsnce / disarm / stun / kd and enemy than I would slow them.

In the end, most players fail at kiting and interrupting charge. Having charge r3 is good enough for a gap closer, and if you really want another, reincarnate a scout.
