Let's Play!

Postby guitarguy47 » Tue Jan 31, 2012 3:05 pm

I'm looking forward to making a let's play with a couple of friends (maybe more people will start playing :) ) once the bard class comes out, and i'm wondering if there's anything i need to do to avoid getting my video taken down. i'm guessing i'll have to ask permission first, but is there anything else :?:

The only thing you'd need to worry about is using certain music. Music companies hate when you use the music they already freely distribute online.

If you're just filming you and your friends just regularly playing Allods you've got nothing to worry about.
Oops, should probably remove this.

Do a search on youtube for the song you want to use. If you see that its uploaded several times and if ads appear on the video, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I tried to post an Allods video I made last week but it wouldn't let me because of the song ._. even though it's on the original video that I had made a parody of.

Just as well, my bad drawings were bad and I think the video gave Polynikes a headache anyway.

If you want to be safe, try public domain music. The selection may be quite limited (mostly classical music), but you can use it freely. Alternatively, you can use creative commons/royalty-free music, which is free to use, as long as you credit the composer/musician.
