New types of Astral Ships

The astral and the astral ships are the things with most potential in this game and i was thinking that a more kinds of ships could make it even more interesting, over all in a posible scenario of astral naval battles (as examples: guild vs guild and faction vs faction).

Mini-Ship:

The Mini-Ships would be small personal ships that let the player to leave the Astral Ship and fight the mobs/players/ships directly.

It could work in 2 ways:

-Could be a part of the Astral Ship, like other devices, for example, the cannons. In that case, the owner of the Astral Ship would be able to upgrade them like they do with all the rest of the ship.

-Or could be a personal item, like the mount, that each player would own but only would be able to use it when is over an Astral Ship and is at the Astral.

How to use it:

The ships could have landing pads (marked with red circles) wich would be used to summon the ship (it have a trigger like many things in the game). Once the player active it, would be automatically placed in the ship and flying.

Mini-Ship Devices:

This Mini-Ships would have a few devices of their own (that can be also upgraded). The devices would be: mini-motor, mini-reactor, mini-turbine, mini-helm, 1 shield and 1 cannon, the last 2 could be the same used by the Astral Ships (the rest too but also could have a special version for the Mini-Ships).

Once the player is inside the Mini-Ship, all the buttons should appear on the screen to be able to drive it in an easier way.

I made a very bad design of how it could look (dont be bad with me, i am not a designer)

Guild Ship (or Astral Destroyer):

An alternative to the Astral Ship having the Mini-Ships, could be a new kind of Astral Ship. This new ship would be larger than the Astral Ships and would be something that only the Guild can build. The ship would be able to be summoned by any Senior Officer but the devices would be able to be changed only by the Guild Leader.

This ships would be slower than the Astral Ships and more difficult to drive but would have better shields, more hp, and bigger cannons that can hit hardder and at bigger distance.

This kind of ships would be used for the Guilds and the players would be able to use it while are in Raid Party: making it able to have a large crew over it. The idea would be not to be able to use them for the Astral dungeons but for Astral Wars, for example:

I like that idea, and lead me to my second idea:

2nd) Astral Death Match:

A sector would be selected and the ships of each faction would be summoned at hubs that are far away from the middle of the sector. The ships could have a window of 15 mins to join and then the ports of each faction could be blocked to prevent ships to go out, or block the access to that sector in some way.

Then, the ships of one faction must kill all the oposite ones to win. The each of the last standing ships of the winner faction (can be more than one ship), could get a few chests to loot as reward.

In another version of this, each ship that participate, would have 1 chest added to their ship when they start, and the enemies not also must kill the oposite ships but also steal those chests.

I know that this means that only a few people could participate but i really would like to see wars between astral ships. And something like this could be implemented as a battlefield, and could be even divided in brackets (A1, A2, and A3).

i suggested this to CHOMP a while back, would be cool and add a whole new element to astral. +1

I don't think the mini ships should be available on the 6-man astral ships. The current version of the astral, at least if you do it manually and go to a semi-difficult or harder sector requires all 6 players to be actively running the ship.

That being said, I do think it's a cool idea and would work great with the idea of a 24 man astral raid ship. Half the crew could pilot smaller harass vessels and the rest could run the ship.

The only major thing being done to the astral ships in the next 3-4 months is the new ship design (which looks cool but is a big turnoff since the time could have been used better)

But any idea of bigger ships with smaller vessels, with guild/raid formations etc, I'm all in +1

nice illustrations though.

These are some really well-thought out ideas, and I also approve! I can tell you put a lot of effort into this, and I enjoyed the drawings.

Single-manned fighters would be so much fun, dogfights in Astral and maybe even bombers that could bomb PvP zones or large ships.

But the new features of the new ship in 3.0 is four extra cannons.

I've always wanted raid ships though. It'd be neat to have a complex Astral flight with a raid group.

I agree that could be better if the mini-ships were able to be used from the large guild ship. And i think that have a raid ship could give a twist to the astral. I imagine not only guild and faction wars but also big astral demons that must be defeated in raids, or even npc enemy fleets of ships that attack the players: could be ghost ships, ships of skeletons, pirates, and other things like that (dont know if those things alredy exists since my experiense in the asltral isnt much).

I saw in some of the Russian patch notes that there would be astral anomalies. I wanted to suggest something like that, but since they will add it, is just wait and see how it goes. I had the idea with those twisters at Kirah, that rise the character in the air and thorw it. It could be fun to have things like that with the ships, it would make it a bigger challenge to drive them.

But the anomalies coming are meaner. :P

Your idea of other NPC ships brought up the idea of Gibberling kamikaze ships to me. :P Because every ship wreck you see in Allods was caused by a Gibberling in some way, proven fact.

I think it'd have been nice if at the very least each races had their own unique Astral ship designs, to distinguish themselves even more from others. Instead we have two ship designs (very similar anyhow) with a few different symbols. That's the disappointing part in terms the actual ships themselves.

As far as the Astral itself is concerned what I'd like to see is would be some sort of a "background" or "skybox" layer in the distance in which we'd see demons pouring out of vortexes and League/Imperial ships battling one another (or battling demons). That would be in the distance and randomly generated when you arrive in a hub, you wouldn't be able to interact with those events but they'd be there to be seen to add to the atmosphere.

But anyway, Yosuf, you have some nice ideas in there. Maybe one day Astral ships and/or Astral itself will be improved in some ways, that would be nice.
