There was actually a big patch several days ago and bards got a lot of changes, so there isnt any updated guide yet ... The stats remain the same rules as before, but about the skills .. i dont know i just experiment for myself until lvl 51 pros create sum guides for us newbs..
What i found for myself is that most of the bard abilities get a big increase from lvl 1 to lvl 2 ... and lvl 3 is just a minor minor increase so i dont get them past 2. Nocturne song is a heal but its very weak post-patch , i got it to only 1 cuz the increase in healing after 1 is unnoticable, esp when i try to AOE pull mobs for questing. I rely more on Elegy for the passive DoT it deals, so thats why i doubt between Requiem and Nocturne ... Requiem inrceases damage of Elegy but it builds up slowly , there is also the Aria song ruby which i also cant decide wether to take it or not- it ads nice bonus damage to Dissonance hits.. ALso the Power Chord ability i think is only good for end game PvE or PvP, cuz the DoT it adds is very weak + it needs 3 stacks to be actually useful , thats why for questing and leveling i would skip it ..Acoustic Barrier is one of my most fave spells... Coupled with Elegy its a bomb for AoE pulls, where u just spam it and the 2 spells finish off the mobs. The Marches you get from Musical Notation are very good, but most of them are for bigger lvls in my opinion... Theoretically The M.boost one is cool but at lower lvls its boost is pretty weak cuz its % based , thats why i use the HP and Energy increase buff for better AoE Questing cuz at lvl 1 , it adds +10% HP and 10 more energy .
Flying Blade is the spell i use for pulling and for hard hitting cuz at lvl2 it hurts a lot , thats why i consider to ruby it. Protective Tune i cant find useful post-patch , even at lvl 3 it doesnt seem to protect me that well as before .. so i consider de-leveling it to 1 for the moment ( until a guide shows up saying otherwise ) only for the 80% damage reduce. About Rubies "Long SOlo"is my fave, ad it adds 3 more hits to one of our most deadly spells and "Masterful Solo" decreases its CD by 30 % at lvl 3 which is also nice for both questing and otherwise. I also have the Finese increase rubies cuz it seems for me its the most important and harr to find stat for us. I also have the 9% damage increase ruby above 75 % HP which is pretty nice since my HP rarely goes below 80% while i quest . The "Modulation" ruby also seems very useful for me and im going for it next grabbing the Parry Chance ruby along the way, as Elegey already is one of my fave and most useful things to use, so the 18 % damage buff for it ( and Nocturne also ) is nice to have. Not to mention the 100 % increase damage of Acoustic barrier - seems YUMMI for AoE .. Darn so hard to choose between all xD but i think ill deffinetly grab it + the strenght boost along the way
