I agree with mlamlah2
there is very little detailed information to be found outside the game itself. I felt rather insecure when I started playing as I'm an avid roleplayer myself but felt I had not nearly enough background information. However, since the rp base in this game is non-existant it wasn't a big issue. I read the quest texts and learned from there. It also helps to play a character that is similarly inexperienced when it comes to the way of the world, so you can discover everything as you play.
My character Arille, for example, started out as a rather average example of her people with what little knowledge I had of Elves, and changed and 'grew' as I learned more by doing quests. I think the easiest way to go about character development in Allods is to simply let it happen without too much of a backstory for your char, and you'll discover their personality!
