In Russian the word is хадаганки, which roughly translates to hadaganki. However, in certain words the Cyrillic 'х' can be translated as making a 'kh' sound instead of an 'h' sound. Hence why it was Khataganian in some games, and is Hadagan in some.

My guess is that it got changed to Xadaganian because the Cyrillic 'х' looks like the 'x' from the Roman alphabet.

It should definitely be a 'd' though, not a 't', as the Cyrillic 'д' always makes a 'd' sound.

Given the prominence of 'H' in Imperial architecture, I suspect 'Hadaganian' was the 'intended' Roman spelling. Xadaganian does have a bit of cool going for it, but all those Hs in Yasker's Tower are confusing at first.

I know, I know. I'm from Bulgaria, our alphabet is Cyrillic. Just checked, it was "Khadaganian". Tka-Rik pronounces is really weird, with a really hard T. It really isn't much, just the name of the nation is pronounced with a K.

@Erulogos - this H there is actually the Cyrillic "N" letter, it stands there for Nezeb or Nezebgrad, something like this. All text like signs, posters, etc in the game world is in Russian. It is awesome.
