The story of Kelpie
An expedition, conducted by one of the most brilliant minds of the Empire, a genius of the Empire which some calls him, and one of the most distinguished Arisen of our time, Sarang Kelpie, led an expedition crew of 200 Imperial soldiers into the great dark beyond of the astral...
After repelling swarms and swarms of astral demons for months in an unknown sector of the astral, the Imperial expedition ship - Hercules was finally depleted of its resources, and its crew began to fear for the worse. Sarang Kelpie knew that another battle with the demons in the astral would be suicidal and would lead to the destruction of Hercules. Ill-fated, the crew soon realized they were being followed by a Great and Ancient Octulhu, one, which was so enormous a single swipe from its tentacles would be more than enough to break the ship and all of its crew members.
In desperation, Sarang Kelpie ordered his crew to stir towards an unknown wormhole near the vicinity of the ship, to escape the wrath of the Octulhu.
The wormhole swallowed the expedition ship and sent its members spinning into the unknown.
The ship Hercules crash landed on an allod soon after entering the wormhole.
Upon the pile of wreckage and ship rubble, Sarang Kelpie gathered what was left of his troops and supplies and began to set up a camp near the site of the crash. Sarang Kelpie recorded in his diary that the enviroment of this allod was very similar to that of the Holy land, Asee-teph - Lush, green forest, a place of great biodiversity.
Sarang Kelpie then ordered Zorin Thomas, his second in command to re-establish communication with the capital and request for immediate evacuation. In the meantime, Sarang Kelpie decided to examine the wildlife of this mysterious allod and try to better understand the allod they were in. Upon exploring the jungles of the allod, Sarang Kelpie found no strange new inhabitants, but the regular natives of Sarnaut such as Tapirs and tigers. Despite that, Sarang Kelpie still ordered his man to capture some of the creatures and bring it back to the campsite to study. The creatures were caged and placed beside the camp's stables, where the crew placed their horses.
In one particular cage, Sarang Kelpie was studying a certain Tapir, tests and results showed that this Tapir was lighter, faster and displayed behaviors not seen by normal Tapirs. This made Sarang Kelpie more intrigued to study the wildlife of this allod. He launched another expedition into the jungle to round up more specimens to study. Upon returning to the camp, he was enraged and confused and began questioning the guards - why was there a Xadaganian horse in the cage which he kept his Tapir, and was enraged that the Tapir he was studying for days vanished. However, he soon realized that the key to the cage has always been with him, and there was no sign of the Tapir escaping from the cage as the cage was still perfectly intact.
Confused and frustrated, Sarang Kelpie unlocked the cage and brought the Xadaganian horse back to the nearby stables. Upon opening the cage, the Xadagnian horse bolted out of it with incredible and shockingly high speed, that it caught the attention of the entire camp. Sarang Kelpie ordered his men to capture the loose steed and place it back into the stables.
Upon mounting onto their own Xadaganian steeds to pursuit the rogue horse, the troops soon realize that their horses were no match for the escaped horse, it was simply too quick. Despite that, Zorin Thomas, who succeeded in sending a distress call back to the capital and now awaiting rescue ships, manage to outflank the horse and capture it, placing it back into the stables.
As the troops gathered around to assist Thomas in placing the horse back, they were all shocked when they witnessed the impossible...
The Xadaganian horse warped and morphed, its body decreasing in size, its legs became smaller, the fur of the beast began to fade, and the Xadaganian horse was now a native grey wolf. It struggled and was about to break free again when Sarang Kelpie casted a binding spell onto it, and held it in place.
When they placed this mysterious beast back into a cage, the men were awed and bewildered as the mysterious beast morphed back and forth from a horse into a wolf again and again.
Nobody has ever witnessed such a beast which was able to shapeshift into a creature it has seen ever, in the history of Sarnaut. It was a brand new creature introduced to the world... In honor of such an amazing discovery, Sarang Kelpie named the beast after himself - Kelpie
As rescue fleets appeared on this mysterious allod, the crew was rescued and sent back to the Capital city...
Back in the capital, Sarang Kelpie further studied the mysterious Kelpie beast, and was able to mass replicate the creature using advanced Arisen and necromancy skills.
After months of studying the creature, Sarang Kelpie was able to conclude that the Kelpie was able to morph into all sorts of beast in the world of Sarnaut, from the Xadaganian horses, to even the great Mana bikes. It was also faster and stronger than the original creatures it copied.
The League soon learned of this beast and manages to learn the secrets of replicating, taming and using this Kelpie for their own forces. The League and Empire then used this new creature in their fields of war, as mounts.
Hence, dawned a new age of travel and mounts in the world of Sarnaut. Though such an amazing discovery has been made, will the Empire and the League put it to good use to fight their common enemy? Or will they simply use these mounts in their endless battles with one another. Only time will tell...
