Patch 3.04 - Patch Notes

Below are the patch notes for Patch 3.04 - New Horizons.

Please know that any discussion of patch notes for other regions is not permitted on the forums.

If you feel that there is an error in the patch notes, you may report it after August 8th when the servers are live and you have verified it is not working correctly for the NA region's client. Please also report any changes you may find that are not listed here so that we may document them and amend the patch notes accordingly.

General

• Introducing Mercenaries! Mercenaries are special NPCs that are hired by players to complete dungeons and allods, allowing for an experience that isn’t dependant on other players

• At level 11, players can talk to a City Guide who will direct them to their faction’s Mercenaries Leader to learn more about hiring a Mercenary. A Mercenary’s level and price for hire is determined by the player’s level

• Must be out of combat to summon Mercenaries

• A Mercenary cannot be group leaders, but will count as party members and will follow the commands of the player that hired them

• Poor quality loot will be distributed among Mercenaries as well

• Mercenaries are paid for a single dungeon or allod at a time. If a Mercenary has been killed or dismissed before the dungeon or allod is complete they can be summoned again for free

• There are six different Mercenaries for hire, each with a different role:
- The Protector: The best defended mercenary, performing the "meat shield" role as a tank. He provokes enemies to attack him rather than other members of the group and can withstand the strongest blows
- The Physician: An irreplaceable ally who heals severe wounds and maintains the life force of her comrades, lifts curses cast upon them, and weakens the effect of poisons
- The Fighter: A warrior skilled in close combat. She is not as well defended as the Protector, but her deadly attacks can cause damage to several enemies at once. In addition, the Fighter grants the party the "Aura of Ferocity" effect, which increases the damage inflicted by weapon attacks
- The Shooter: He prefers to attack his targets from a distance. His accurate shots will cause enormous damage to the enemy, and the "Aura of Regeneration" ability will increase the rate of mana and energy regeneration for all party members
- The Witch: A cunning enchantress that sucks the life force from the enemy, weakening them and preventing them from launching a full-strength attack. Her "Aura of Fortitude" ability is a great help in battle, increasing the life, mana, and energy of all party members
- The Wizard: A magician that rains down the powers of Nature on enemies' heads. His powerful spells are capable of incinerating an entire group of enemies on the spot, and the skill "Aura of Potency" increases the damage caused by spells cast by party members

• Players can now change factions. To change factions, the current faction must be the minority or equal to the population of the other faction for that server. Players require an Amulet of Renunciation from the Item Shop. Using it will disconnect the player from the server and ask them to change their race to one of the opposite faction that is able to play their current class. A faction change will not affect a player’s class. Requirements to change faction:
- Cannot be a guild leader
- Cannot have auctions or bids
- Cannot be married
- Must be at least level 10
- “Ancient June Magic” or “Science at the Service of the Empire” World Mystery must be completed and turned in to the Keeper of Secrets
- Same requirements apply to incarnations

• The Great status tutorial quests can now be accepted even after the Title of the Great quest has been completed

• A new vanity slot has been introduced for shoulders

• Experience is now rewarded for killing players. Codex of Knowledge and Lucky Moments do not affect this experience. Also, this experience will not be lost after death if the player is an incarnation. The accumulated PvP experience is in the experience bar’s tooltip

• All items from chests will now appear directly in the inventory

• During the construction of a personal allod, players can choose between three different types of terrain: desert, snow, and jungle. When construction of the allod has been completed, a quest from Axiniya Zemlemerova (League) and Andrei Prorabin (Empire) will allow players to travel to their new allod, complete quests there, and receive scrolls that will allow them to duplicate gear in the form of Upgrading items

• PvP weapon merchants now sell Sword of the Judge and Sword of the Gladiator

• Level 51 Training Dummies have been added to the Border Outpost in Darkwater, the Imperial Training Camp in Igsh Military District, Kotelny Camp and Maddox Depot in Eljune, and Brazen Hill and Russet Station in Coba Plateu

• Added additional Skirmish quartermasters that offer cursed armor for significantly less Battle Emblems than the standard vendor. Sebastian de Pluie (League) and Tallulah Tatters(Empire) can be found near the original skirmish quartermasters. The required reputation is also less: Cursed Legendaries require Trusted, Epics and Relics require Friendly

• Imperial Bard Trainer is now located in Yasker's Tower near the Hall of Changes

• Character creation screen has been improved

• Pure Amalgam quest now has a level 45 requirement

• Map and Quest Log has been improved:
- Double click makes a quest Active
- Double clicking an Active quest makes it no longer Active
- Automove is not available if there is no destination
- Automove button appears when hovering the mouse to the right of a quest or objective

• New mounts added to the stable will automatically be well fed for 30 minutes. This free feed time doesn’t count towards the mount’s experience

• Find Quest feature now works more accurately

• Context actions will pop up for quest items even if the item is in Inventory Overflow

• Quest Tracker has been improved. The tracker’s background no longer needs to be activated to use some features

• Using Amalgam Concentrate now gives one Impure Amalgam, instead of awarding 3 Amalgam and requiring 1 Caustic

• Autorun now leads to a Teleport Master if a quest objective is in another zone. This function does not apply to all quests yet but many

• Fixed a bug where Click-to-Move would sometimes move in the wrong direction

• League players will receive “The Shadowy Tower” quest will be given after completing "A Well-Deserved Reward". The following quests have been removed: Stepping into Darkness, The Beginning of the End, Preying on the Predator, The Trial Continues, Yet Another Battle, The Final Trial, and Knowledge is Power!

• Imperial players will receive “The Shadowy Tower” quest will be given after " A Cultist's Reward" The following quests have been removed: Into the Enemy's Lair, The Evil Scout, The Predator Awaits, Moving Forwards, Back to Battle, and The Last Trial

• Using abilities now automatically faces the caster at the target

• Fixed a bug where Xadaganians could not use Enchanted Saddles

• Fixed a bug with graphic errors on various videocards

• Fixed the error where players were not receiving Recruit's Chest

• Fixed a bug where restored characters did not have their Astral ships

• Fixed a bug where some mail could not be deleted because it contained items that could not be deleted

• Fixed a bug where "Halberd of the Crimson Sunset" had a one-handed axe model

• Fixed a bug where the Mentor did not always receive rewards from their Apprentices

• Fixed a bug where Perished Paladin's Cloak from Dead City had no graphic



Item Upgrading System

• Players can now transform an item that is used for upgrading into Uncommon, equipable version of that item by using a Stabilizer sold by the Refinery Masters

• Improved the item refining interface

• Items used for upgrading now have a symbol on their icon making them easier to identify in the inventory



Draconic Aspect

• Draconic Aspect has been changed. All current stat bonuses have changed to additional Strength or Intelligence depending on the class. These stats are not passively active, but are counted when certain abilities are used. Ability group depends on the item. These changes do not affect main weapon slots, and off-hand weapons will have Stamina (171 stat bonus for level 51). Old Draconic Aspect items can be exchanged for new ones by completing a quest



Item Shop

• Amulet of Renunciation is not yet available

• A new looter helper is available, the Aviator

• Builder's Runes now accelerate ship upgrading as well as building

• Engineer's Runes have been removed from the Item Shop

• Players can now create more Incarnations by using additional Iridescent Jars. Up to 7 incarnations can be made this way



Interface

• Mentoring has been changed. Players can now become Apprentice at level 9. This does not apply to those who are already an apprentice. The list of apprentices for an incarnation and progenitor is now merged. The total number of apprentices for all incarnations is 10. Cooldown of "Dismiss" function of all mentor's incarnations is also merged. The Apprentices ignore the incognito status of their mentor. If the number of Apprentices on all of a character’s incarnations is more than 10, the Apprentices will remain, but new Apprentices cannot be added

• Mentor’s window now displays more detailed information about the rewards received from their Apprentices

• Added a series of quests for Apprentices that can be taken from Methodius Cognoscentius (League) and Sarang Hurum (Empire). Completing them will award the Apprentice with "Apprentice's Gift" which can be used by targeting the Mentor to receive rewards for both players

• Mentor interface now has information about Mentor and Apprentices’ guilds. If they are in the same guild, chance to receive Mark of Diligence is doubled

• Interface menu is now cleaner and easier to navigate

• Amount of Myrrh require to change to Secondary Spec is now in the tooltip

• Holidays and other events are now accompanied by icons that appear in the bottom left corner, similar to the Lucky Moment icon

• Added a new mood emote /holiday

• “Cave of Trials”, “Poison for the Soul”, and “A Small Donation” quest rewards are no longer displayed in Currency tab

• Added a new toggle option in the Interface menu allowing the use of mounts for Automove

• Players can now inspect the vanity gear other players are wearing

• Tutorial system has been improved

• Stables icon has been changed

• Quest monster corpses now last longer before disappearing

• Repeatable quests can now be accepted again after completing without additional NPC dialog

• Some tooltips in the Currency window are now more informative

• The tooltip for Pomegranate Juice created by the Magical Tablecloth now properly indicates that it is rare and not uncommon

• Icons for cursed items have been improved

• Interface menu is now cleaner and easier to navigate

• Regalia designs have been reset. All Guild Leaders will receive items to create a new design

• Fixed a bug when certain guild regalia options were not applied

• Fixed incorrect messages about auction item status change

• Fixed a bug where the dismounted effect was listed as a buff instead of a debuff

• Fixed a bug where the crown would not display on the party leader’s portrait

• Fixed a bug where "Alt+Z” did not hide characters names

• Fixed a bug that prevented the Quest List on the world map from working

• Fixed a bug where Loyalty was not displayed properly in the guild window

• Fixed a bug where messages about completing the “Pledge of Fervor” quest would duplicate

• Fixed some bugs that occurred when combining runes

• Fixed a bug that was resetting icons placed on the hotkey bars

• Fixed a bug where the timestamp in chat was incorrect

• Fixed a bug with the Horn of War’s error message

• Fixed a bug where some herbs were not located in the Crafting > Herbs section of the auction house




Classes

• Fixed a bug where Martyr's Salvation would cancel prematurely

• Fixed a bug where threat reduction from Holy Shield and similar abilities lasted until logout

• "Aura of Potency" and "Aura of Ferocity" no longer have durations and will remain active until cancelled



Bard

• Loud Chords’ description has been fixed

• Songs now turn off if the bard does not move for 15 minutes

• Acoustic Barrier now correctly activates Flag of War when applicable

• Fixed a bug where Loud Timpani did not increase Power Chord’s damage



Mage

• Arisen’s Astral Arrow cooldown is now 2 minutes with a cast time of 2 seconds

• Fire Shock and Ice Flow spell icons have been changed

• Fixed a bug where Xadaganian’s Astral Aegis spell would trigger from self-inflicted damage (like falling)

• Fixed a bug where Elemental Shield did not protect from Healer's "Chain of Light" spell

• Fixed a bug where Prismatic Lightning would apply to corpses


Paladin

• All Paladins level 15 or higher have been sent a Fountain of Death

• Holy Wrath and Divine Wrath’s damage was increased by 22%

• Solemn Prayer’s healing was increased by 37%

• Shining Sword’s damage was increased by 37%

• Righteous Word’s damage was increased by 32%

• Light Infusion and Light Immersion’s damage absorption was increased by 35%

• Sacred Sunrise’s damage was increased by 25%. Now costs 40 energy, up from 25

• Purifying Strike’s damage was increased by 63%. Now costs 35 energy, up from 24

• Chastising Strike‘s damage was decreased by 4% and now costs 16 energy, down from 32

• Tenacity’s damage absorption was increased by 150%. Now costs 8 energy, down from 15/10/5

• Retribution’s damage was increased by 25%. Cooldown is 5 seconds, down from 8/7/6

• Rank 1 Immobilize’s damage was decreased by 37%. Rank 3 was increased by 37%

• Strike of Justice’s damage was increased by 22%. Now consumes Divine Sentence stacks for additional damage and knocks the target down

• Crusader Blow and Crusader Seal’s damage was increased by 85%. Now costs 28 energy, up from 16. Grants the Purifier effect, reducing the cost of the next Purifying Strike by 25%, stacking up to 2 times

• Shield Slam’s damage was increased by 100%. Cooldown was increased to 30 seconds, up from 8. Knocks down target with 100% chance, up from the base 20%. Dispel’s the Divine Sentence effect on the target, dealing damage for each stack

• Rubies:

• Onslaught reduces the cooldowns as well as energy cost of abilities

• Power of Purity no longer increases Chastising Strike’s damage. Sacred Sunrise damage increases by 6/12/18% up from 5%
• Copious Canons now restores canons 8/16/25% faster instead of giving additional canons for using Purifying Strike

• Just Defender now increases AoE damage by 7% in addition to reducing incoming damage by 3% when fighting 3 or more enemies

• Searing Justice’s damage was increased by 176%

• Vengeance’s damage was increased by 170%

• Counterblow now deals additional Holy damage instead of a guaranteed critical hit

• Devoted Plea reduces the cost of healing spells by 20/40/60%, up from 10/20/30%

• Certain Victory now increases damage by 6/13/19% on targets less than 50% health

• Combat Inspiration now triggers on blocks and dodges in addition to parries

• Protection of Faith reduces the cost of shield abilities by 20/40/60%, up from 10/20/30%

• Strength of Justice’s damage was increased by 38%

• "Crusader Blow" ruby grid has been changed: Disciple's Power now below Combat Inspiration, and Mighty Strikes and Concentration have switched places

• Fixed a bug where Challenge was not working properly

• Shining Sword and Blinding Light have a new icon

• Miraculous Recovery has a new icon


Psionicist

• All Psionicists level 15 or higher have been sent a Fountain of Death

• Many talents and rubies have been changed. For a full list of the abilities and their descriptions, please see the thread in our Psionicist forum

• Fixed a bug where Seers’ Elevated Insight did not protect from physical damage


Scout

• Tranquil Arrow’s effect now applies 11/13/15 stacks, up from 10/12/15

• Eagle Vision now works correctly with Incendiary Arrow and Kanian’s Explosive Shot

• Ninjutsu talent has been changed. It now adds a second attack to each hit from "Flurry of Blades" to a random enemy within 7 yards of the target

• Fixed a bug where Common Balm of the Last Chance potion would prevent death when used during the Last Laugh buff


Warden

• Call of the Wild descriptions now displays pet damage

• Now Dismiss Pet will always send a pet to the Ethereal Plane to restore health and energy if the pet is out of combat

• Fixed a bug where Vissarion Arhivin’s Frostbolt in Tensess Temple didn’t properly decrease pets’ energy bars


Warrior

• Hack’s damage now depends on the equipped boots and costs 25 energy, up from 24

• Blade Mastery ruby no longer affects Hack

• Fixed a bug where Brutal Throw could not be used with Bows and Crossbows equipped




World


• Fixed a bug where certain portals would not appear on the list once activated

• Astralium which is needed to unlock access to Cradle, now can be gathered by completing the "Shiny Baubles" or "Unscientific Research" quests

• Quests to receive "Piercing Gaze" spell have been made easier

• Removed quests: A Gift for the Diligent, The Banking Crisis, The Astral Extract, Small Relic of the Past, Medium Relic of the Past, Large Relic of the Past, and Alluring Astral

• Draconid Queen no longer drops gold

• Fixed a bug where monsters required for “The Mysterious Totem” quest didn’t count


League Starting Zone
• Dead quest monsters from the “Escape to the Portal” quest now disappear after 2-4 minutes


Evermeet Isle
• Adjusted quest rewards for Bards


Lightwood
• Fixed a bug that would make “The Creator's Path: Arena of Death” quest impossible to complete


Tenebra
• Fixed a bug where the “Invitations to the Council” quest could not be completed if Vamp de Desirae had been killed before


Nezebgrad
• Yasker’s Tower has a new map with detailed views of all floors

• Fixed a bug that prevented turning in the required disassembling parts to Sarang Gahidzha for the “Help for the Imperial Suppliers' Guild” quest


ZIT Headquarters
• Fixed a bug where teleporting to the Pyramid would place players in a wall

• Fixed a bug where players were unable to talk to Lalulalu

• Fixed a bug with the traveling spheres inside the pyramid at ZIT


Dream Factory
• Fixed a bug where the Dream Factory portal would not activate properly


Asee-Teph
• “The Mercenary's Escape” no longer fails when Holy Shield ability is used


Eljune
• NPCs for the “Meeting the Seers” quest longer attack hostile faction players


Dragon Ring
• Added a plate caster helm, Blackfire Hood, to the reward list for “Becoming a Demon Hunter”

Gipat
• Fixed a bug where discarding “An Easy Job: Pirate Hat” would remove Golden Tokens

• “Mastering the Ghosts” repeatable quest now requires 15 boars, wolves, or toads

• “Evolution or Creation?” and "Unending Waves" have been simplified


Twilight Isle
• Power of Thought event in the calendar now lists the correct amount of experience awarded (2800, not 58800)


Wandering Isle
• “Assault on the Wandering Isle” event can now be finished by capturing two checkpoints, one being the final checkpoint


Kingdom of Elements
• Elementals at the central isle are now level 50-51 (up from 47-48), and elementals on the smaller outer isle are level 48-49 (up from 45-46)


Dead City
• Astral Parasites from the Earth Shatterer encounter no longer target two targets simultaneously

• The Last King quest has been added rewarding two new vanity pieces. Players must defeat the Dead King to complete it

• Players can now face Nihaz after completing all three wings of Dead City in one week

• Fixed a bug where Drakan would enter combat with players that weren’t at the boss’ location

• Drakan's Flame Breath ability now works properly



Skirmishes
• Probability of getting to random party has been increased

• Inactive players will receive a stacking "Traitor" debuff. At 10 stacks the player will be teleported from the skirmish and gain a "Deserter" debuff that lasts 30 minutes. Players with the Deserter debuff cannot join skirmishes

• Big chests award you with 3 points and 3 Symbol of Glory instead of 5

• You cannot use acceleration or teleportation abilities while carrying chests

• Chests are dropped when an invulnerability skill is used


Arena of Death
• Arena of Death is now at specific times: 17:00, 19:00, and 21:00 (PST). Players of the same faction can participate against each other

• Some Warden pet abilities are unavailable while waiting for the battle

• Symbol of Glory now can be always looted from a Rare Gift chest

• Fixed a bug where players were awarded incorrectly


Astral Confrontation
• Now minimal bid depends on the lowest bid instead of the highest. You cannot make a bid twice on the same allod. New bid replaces the minimal one If you set the same sum, then will be placed sum which is increased for 1 gold

• Now allods of higher Astral layers are conquered automatically

• Qualification battle has been changed. Total score is now 20 and battle will be ended if any team gathers 121 points

• Fixed a bug that prevented players from raising bids on the Astral Confrontation Auction



Astral

• Added 7 new allods

• New trade routes are now available. Routes that go through the Dark Astral provide more rewards

• Sentry Astral Pursuer's damage has been changed. Also, his damage is properly reduced when he receives damage from ship cannons

• Astrolabe jumps now allow for selecting a more specific destination like an allod, outpost, or event

• “Adrenaline Rush” modifier is has been enhanced and now replaces 2 common modifiers

• “Merging the Elements” modifier effects are now displayed as debuffs instead of buffs

• Settlements and Outposts have been removed from the Stormy Astral

• Astral Transporter’s effect now persists through death

• Astral chests no longer have cast bars when bringing to the ship or when opening once in the hangar

• “Complete your ship's repairs” dialog has been removed. Simply summoning the ship will accomplish this

• Fixed a bug which caused a lack of Astral allods


Devices

• Ship devices interface has been reworked. Devices are now displayed in sorted view and search filters are available

• AOE range of ship cannons has been increased to 120 meters

• Ships in vertical unstable zones are destroyed slower and will correctly jump away

• Jump ability used to board ships and allods now has a unique icon

• Found objects using the Visor’s scanning ability will display up to 30 seconds, with a scanning range up to 2000 meters

• Destroying a ship in a home region’s unstable zone causes it to lose hull durability

• Now two players cannot use the same device simultaneously

• Ship devices are under different naming conventions

• Energy consumption and damage of improved "Thorn", "Roar" and "Hammer" cannons have been increased by 10%

• Power of "Aegis" and "The Wall" shield types has been increased by 5%. "Aegis" shield cooldown has been lowered by 12%

• Removed "of the League" and "of the Empire" suffixes on some ship engines and helms

• Fixed the descriptions of some ship crystals

• Fixed a bug where the Improved Astral Trap would not properly collect up to 125 emanations

• Fixed a bug where players were unable to set up decorations in the Scanner Room


Professions

• Fixed the error when Sparkling Essence was not bound to character

• Fixed errors in Alchemy interface

• Adjusted some herbs for Alchemy: Thistle, Catmint, and Aconite properties have been reworked to make brewing potions easier. Aloe, Wormwood, Arnica, Mint, Jimson, Achillea and Thyme have been reworked
Oops, should probably remove this.

that completely takes away a major pvp element!
and also will you fix the bloody annoying scout teleport bug? every time i teleport my camera goes backwards, i have to right click to fix it.

im not happy with this patch at all. (theres more, too lazy to quote tho)

They tried doing it at all times of the day. The problem was that it almost never got enough people to happen.

I actually have a problem with this feature as well. Facing the target seems to be minor, but except for skill rotation and utilizing terrain, that is the only level of skill required in pvp. Now it will become just button mashing. It won't really affect the way I pvp, but it will affect the way others pvp against me. And it is dumbing down the game. :/ Not worthy of doom saying or rage quitting though.
In pve I don't mind the feature at all.

Other than that, the patch seems awesome.
