First of all, this is not going to be a thread directed offensively at gpotato, but I will be voicing my opinion on why this patch will kill the player population in so many ways.
First of all, the russian server population is usually at 20% average for each server now. The reason why? The players are very disappointed with how the game has become. There are many factors that have pushed players to their limits. I don't really want to delve into the pvp issue right now because of the fact that there might be separate servers for PvP/PvE. The real matters that I want to delve into is how the cash shop is very slowly, but obviously slinking into everyday gaming life. With each death at lvl 40 costing 3.5g each time, it makes the game a lot more annoying. The mobs have huge aggro radius, chase you for a long range, and most of the time you have to run through tons of mobs to get to places. Now, one can no longer die to tele fast back to town without suffering a high fee. Another thing, with a fee this high, who is going to want to pvp? Some classes die more quickly than others when it comes to pvp and this flat rate charge for each death is unfair for certain classes. Another thing, I don't really mind the cash shop rubies, but it does mean lower lvls can pre-buy their rubies from cash shop "gambling" and be a twink in a sense. Heroic instances, making it farmable only once a day, and at the same time making chests only once a day makes buying cash shop chests a lot more attractive to those that are willing to put down rl money. Why bother wasting so many days doing instances when one can just buy cash shop chests? The perfumes. Before they only added a mild hp/mp bonus that I didn't really mind. However, they have been patched to now add more effects, and because of that, it will become the standard in pvp. Everyone will be running around with perfumes to pvp, as well as the cash shop pots. Players will strive to hit max potential, so they will end up using those pots in the cash shop. Astral ships isn't that great or fun of an experience that people will be looking forward to every day. It takes an immense out of time, as well as a lot of money, and requires your guild members to be on, a satisfactory number. No more solo pvp fun, or group pvp fun on lands. Now, I don't really know about war banners, but if they are the same as they were before the patch where they disappeared on death and that they disappeared when you left the zone, that will be so gay.
There is already a poll on the ru forums where over 1000 people have voted against the fear of death debuff, and I haven't rechecked that thread in over two weeks. If there is a pvp fight, and an emeny kills your respective servant of light, you will be [I Have a Potty Mouth] for pvp, unless of course, you're a cash shopper.. or you run all the way to another town's servant of life. In instances, there will be times where the cleric will die, or where you have to rez through purgatory because of the placement of the death. Now, if you are doing a heroic adventure quest, you can not leave the instance because you only get ported there once a day. So that means you have to use cash shop and use your perfume to remove the debuff. I know there is a daily perfume quest, but of course, that only lasts for so long, and is lvl 40 requirement.
At the rate where this game is heading, I can see why the ru server population is so low and many of them are moving to EU/Na beta in hopes that our gms have the power to make things different. I too hope so too, but in the end, I don't really have high expectations. Thank you for listening to my rant.
