Discuss all aspects of Allods Online here.

Patch Notes: 3.0

Postby shockpix » Tue Feb 14, 2012 9:45 am

General

• Level cap increased to 51

• Players who’ve played Allods Online for at least 5 months will be rewarded with a special title and a distinction mark. The most loyal users who played Allods Online for more than a year will receive a title and a distinction mark of a higher rank. These rewards will eventually become available to all eligible players

• Introduced a Currency Exchange service allowing players to purchase Gem Shards with gold

• Introduced a new location, the Tropical Atoll. Players can speak with a Travel Agent in their capital city to buy a ticket for one Special Silver Coin. Players are sent to the Atoll in parties. A half hour after purchasing a ticket players can speak with the Travel Agent to teleport to the Atoll. For those who wish to skip the queue, special tickets are sold from the Item Shop. All travelers are welcome to participate in various activities, such as mixing cocktails, butterfly hunting, seabed exploration, karaoke, or crab racing. Note that visitors are not allowed to cast spells or use items which increase their movement speed while on the Atoll

• Introduced a new playable class: the Bard. The Bard’s role is support and their abilities are beneficial spells that enhance stats and spells that alleviate physical and magical damage. These spells can be found in the arsenals of other classes, but only bards boast a complete selection. Bards can dramatically increase the health of one friendly target. Bards are also relatively effective at healing themselves and their companions and blocking or even removing control spells.

• An assortment of items in the Item Shop can be traded for with Premium Crystals. These can be acquired in exchange for ordinary crystals or for participating in various events. Items bought using Premium Crystals are bound on pickup. Please note that when creating runes, if you use crystal chips bought with premium crystals, the resulting runes will be bound to the player. If you need to create a rune that won't be bound to the player, you must remove the bound chips from your bag, because the bound chips will be used first when combining a rune. Bonus Gem Shards remaining from the Box of Gem Shards promotion will be retroactively converted to Premium Crystals

• A new PvP zone has been added: Witch's Hollow. This 12v12 objective-based zone is accessible several times per day to characters level 23 and up. The goal is to earn resources by controlling the three strategic locations as long as possible. The first team to reach 2500 resources wins. Tokens will be awarded for winning and will be sent via in-game mail. Witch’s Hollow is accessible through the Skirmishes menu (Ctrl+M)

• The player's bag's function has been changed. The bag might now temporarily grow in size during certain moments of play to fit some items. Each additional item in an expanded bag will trigger an Overload effect on the character, decreasing their speed of movement by 10% (both while mounted and on foot). If the character acquires ten extra slots they will be unable to move, use abilities, speak with other players and NPCs, or perform any actions with items in the bag other than to destroy them. Gear in the temporary section of the bag cannot be equipped. The extra slots will disappear once they have been emptied

• The bag now has a button that lets you sort your items automatically. Sorting is done separately for all inventory tabs. For example, setting your General tab to sort automatically will not affect your Crafting tab. Items are rearranged automatically and are grouped in a single slot whenever possible. Items with different expiration times will not be grouped, and bound items will not automatically group with unbound ones

• Merchants no longer offer a discount based on PvP rankings. Instead, merchants will offer a 5% discount to Veterans, and a 10% discount to Guardians and Commanders of the same faction

• Mythical items can no longer be placed in the Magical Refinery

• Undead are now susceptible to bleeding effects and are immune to blind and fear

• Introduced a new raid instance: The Dead City

• Made adjustments to stats:
- Faith no longer determines the effectiveness of healing effects. Instead, Faith now affects the mana supply and regeneration rate, instead of Wisdom. Perception now plays Faith's function in healing, and also affects the damage dealt by spells. Faith is now found only in weapons

• Wisdom, which once affected mana, now affects healing and the character's spell power. It is analogous to Finesse for classes dealing physical damage

• The formula that calculates damage dealt against Finesse/Armor and Expertise/Agility and their magical analogues has been slightly modified and smoothed out. The lack of these stat points will become less punishing

• Rage will become much more dangerous, exerting an even more powerful effect on all aspects of healing. Now Rage affects more than just the chance for a full healing effect, but also what quantity of health will be restored and whether healing will be successful at all.
- In addition to the chances of dodging, parrying, or blocking physical attacks, Agility further decreases the magic damage dealt to the player, depending on the Wisdom of the attacker

• The tooltips for stats have been made more informative and explain their new functions in detail

• There's a new addition to the stat window that indicates your attack damage

• NPCs now sell food and drink which, in addition to restoring health and mana, will grant Stamina or Willpower. Spell effects from food and drink bought from ordinary merchants will disappear when the player dies. Spell effects from food and drink bought from reputation merchants will persist through death if a Holy Charm is active

• All of Sarnaut's heroes now have the ability to earn the title "Great". For earning the title "Great", the player will be granted 1 ruby, 1 talent point, and a second specialization, meaning the character will be able to use another set talents and change their build while out of combat. The second specialization includes a new arrangement of talents, rubies, and the character's stat points. Achieving the Great rank will yield greater rewards in the future

• Players who wish to may now send messages and screenshots to certain social networking sites directly from the game. The “Social" tab in the Options menu lists the social network settings. Screenshots and text messages can be set up to be sent automatically or manually for all social networks or for each one separately

• Symbols of Glory can now be auctioned and sold to vendors

• Existing Experienced Jeweler Manuscripts have been replaced with Fragments of Experienced Jeweler Manuscript in equal proportions

• The "Disband Guild" option is now only available to the guild leader

• Three new content zones with new World Mysteries are now available: The Frontier, the Wandering Isle, and the Cradle

• The Mausoleum of Sparks first season has come to an end. The winners will be awarded prizes and the new season will begin

• The game is now accessible using computers not supporting SSE2 technology

• An Incarnation cannot be recreated if it is currently the leader of a guild

• The gear refining system has been changed:
- To dramatically upgrade the effectiveness of an item, items of analogous quality must be used. The lower the quality of the item used relative to the item being upgraded, the lower its effectiveness
- As the Astral allods grow in difficulty, the quality of loot found there now also increases in quality, all the way up to the 'Mythical’. However, items acquired on these more difficult allods cannot be equipped directly. They can only be used to upgrade other items

• Draconic Aspect has been changed and is now always active. The equipment stat points have been decreased accordingly. Level 45 players can now acquire draconic relics from Skirmish quartermasters in exchange for Battle Emblems, and those that are level 51 can acquire it in the Dead City. This equipment no longer changes visually

• Draconic Relics are not currently available in Gorluxor’s Tower

• The chat message announcing a player leaving a guild has been changed and now reflects whether the player left the guild on their own accord or if they were kicked

• The Hall of Changes now shows the number of masks a player has. New haircuts and customization options are available for every race and gender, as well as new pets and color variations for warden pets

• Adjusted some of the character models

Astral

• Instead of the Keys to the Second Astral Layer and Keys to the Third Astral Layer quests, players may now complete a single Keys to the Astral quest. After its completion, the player receives a universal key that works up to the highest layer of Astral they have access to

• For every three stones submitted to the Star Gates in the quest to open the 3rd layer of the Astral, all characters will receive Emblems of Greatness as compensation. Emblems of Greatness received in the mail will immediately be transferred to the character's Valuables section

• Special quests are no longer prerequisites for flights in any layer of the Astral. However, as before, in order to acquire the keys to the Astral gates players must complete a series of quests on Kirah (which used to unlock the second layer of the Astral)

• A new, fourth layer of the Astral is now accessible. No extra actions will be necessary in order to initiate a flight there. At first, only a small part of it will be visible, consisting of sectors with wormholes from the 3rd layer. In order to unlock the remaining sectors of the 4th layer, the player must collect Fragments of the Astral Map from final bosses on the allods

• Invisible demons now appear in the Third Layer. They can be detected only when they approach the ship or upon using Scan command with the Visor

• Duration of "Battle Rage" modifier has been increased

• Astral demons now decrease movement speed of a ship less

• Decreased the duration that dead creatures displayed on the map

• Equipment crystals looted from Fierce Tempting Predators are now of rare or epic quality. Drop rate of equipment crystals from all Astral demons has been increased. Also, players have a chance to loot uncommon crystals, similar to random character equipment, from non-Astral monsters

• Wormhole to the Savage Astral Predator can now be entered repeatedly, but if the demon was killed, it will not be summoned again

• Astral isle modifiers no longer affect stats of Wardens' and Summoners' pets.

• Now if a party member picks up a chest on a ship, a Mage in their party is not able to cast the Sanctuary spell

• There is a new way for a ship to be destroyed in the Astral:

o When the ship is severely damaged (by Astral demons, other ships, or unstable zones) instead of being destroyed it will lose 16% of its hull strength, a third of the chests on board and will make an emergency jump to another hub, three jumps from the place of destruction

o A shipwreck containing all the lost chests and hardware required for repairs will be left behind at the site of destruction. They will be displayed on the Astral map and on the scanner. They will remain there for one hour. The valuables can be picked up by the ship that lost them or by any other ship

o The ship is destroyed and loses all but a third of its chests remaining in the shipwreck in the following situations: when the ship has been destroyed by the reactor's self-destruction; when the damage sustained leaves less than 16% of the hull strength; when the ship is very deep within an unstable zone. In the last case, the wreckage is immediately swallowed by the Astral

• Adjusted the amount of hardware remaining in the wreckage of Astral ships

• The hardware needed to repair ships of the 2nd and 3rd generation has been reduced. Now the expense comes to 133% and 177% of the number necessary for the repair of a 1st generation hull

• An assortment of elven items of interior decoration has been added. To gain access to these, the player must accept a special quest in the hangar. After this, all elements in the collection will be available for installation. Only gold will be needed to buy them

• When entering combat on any allod, all mounted players will now dismount

• The Astral Limitations modifier now increases the duration of abilities that have casting times

• Modifiers now have the proper effects on creatures summoned by Garm

• Representatives of the Demon Hunters have appeared in hangars. When exploring the Astral, during the collection of unstable anomalies and during the killing of rare and powerful demons, Abnormal Emanations can be collected. These emanations can be traded for ship equipment or interior decorations, or for Hunter's rations

• The astrolabe interface has been changed:

o When the Astral map is opened, sectors and connections that are inaccessible to the player due to inadequate exploration of the astral will no longer be visible

o Sectors will now appear darkened if they cannot be jumped to due to inadequate exploration by group members or if they are inaccessible for any other reason. Sector descriptions will show what players have not done sufficient exploration, or do not possess enough incense or keys. Clicking on an accessible sector will bring up a window that will ask for confirmation of the jump

• The Misalignment function has been changed:

o The duration has been reduced from 45 to 15 seconds

o Any Misalignment (including that resulting from the influence of anomalies or when pulling out from allods) will make the use of the astrolabe and jumping impossible

o The cooldown time has been reduced from 30 to 10 minutes

• Flights into the 2nd or 3rd layer will no longer require completing quests. However, to have the ability to acquire keys to the Astral gates, the quest required to unlock the second layer is still necessary

• The quest once needed to unlock the 3rd layer is no longer required. This quest can still be completed in order to acquire large amounts of experience.

• Weeklong acceleration charges now cost the following:
- 1-5 charges: 30 gold
- 5-10 charges: 100 gold
- 10-15 charges: 300 gold
- 15-20 charges: 1000 gold

• Free Traders in the hangar now sell the hardware necessary for ship repair. These traders no longer sell Astrolabes

• It is now prohibited to fly into hangars belonging to the enemy faction. Moreover, when a ship comes within 400 meters of an enemy allod, the ship will start losing 5% durability every 500 milliseconds

• Work has been done to further protect the home sectors against pirates. Critical damage sustained in a home sector will now cause the ship to make an emergency jump into their hangar without losing hull strength or losing any chests. Pirate ships in the enemy's home sector will lose all chests and hull strength when they die. Flying into the hangar of the enemy faction's home allod is now prohibited

• The behavior of Astral demons has been changed. If the monster loses its target and cannot find another one for 10 seconds, then it returns to the point where it started its attack. In addition, its health is restored

• During pursuit, one can attract the monster's attention, but the prize will go to the player that first attacked it

• The location and connections of sectors from the first through the third layer of Astral have been reworked

• New types of Astral monsters have appeared in the fourth layer of the Astral

• The visibility radius for all objects in the training Astral have been increased

• The map will now display only those sectors that are accessible to the player based on the degree to which they have explored the Astral. Sectors requiring a higher level of exploration will remain hidden

• Messages are now displayed when chests are picked up, dropped, or captured

• The search for objects on the scanner will happen once per region without repeating until everything has been found

• Chests from shipwrecks are now displayed in the chat window under the General tab

• Two types of astral anomalies have been added to the Astral:

o The first type is formed anomalies, which affect ships within a large radius (cooling the reactor, inflicting damage, etc.)

o The second type is rare, unstable anomalies that can be picked up by the ship and yield positive effects, as well as Anomalous Astral Emanations

• The further from the centre along the Y axis (North/South, up/down) the stronger the Astral demons, the more loot can be picked up, and the higher the quality of astral equipment will be

• The further from the centre along the X axis (East/West, left/right) the harder it will be for groups to complete allods and the more loot they will receive for defeating bosses

• New modifiers have been added:

o Blazing Earth - Tongues of flame appear chaotically, inflicting damage and fomenting battle fury, thus enhancing attack power

o Peals of Thunder - The air is electrified to such a degree that a powerful explosion is possible at any moment

o Wind of Death - A cloud of poisonous vapors wafts across the allod, forcing everyone to hold their breath

o Chaotic Distortion - The Astral's influence randomizes the opponents: minimized enemies are harder to hit but inflict less damage, and vice versa for maximized ones

o Nightmare - No one can overcome their fears alone... He who falls behind his comrades is doomed

o Bloody Path - Pain resonates throughout your whole body with every step. And the faster you move, the more damage you sustain

• Fixed a bug that caused the effect from the Astral Revenge modifier to affect creatures and bosses when a turret broke

• Fixed a bug that caused monsters' combat targets to not be indicated on allods containing the Astral Instability modifier

• Fixed a bug that made the level of creatures landing on ships identical across all Astral layers

Hi team,

Patch notes look splendid, good job guys! I've one little question though: on the "Much More" tab of the Game of Gods minisite, the first thing it said was "Matchmaking System for both PVP and PVE" but I don't see that mentioned in the patch notes.

Is it worded differently? Or perhaps that got taken out? Maybe it's indeed mentioned in the patch notes but they're huge and couldn't find it on a first read. Sorry if I missed it!

Cheers.

Currently the only events available through the Skirmishes queue are Arena of Death, June Catacombs, and the new Witch's Hollow.

Unfortunately there's no strictly PvE content that can be queued for at this time.

• The Iridescent Jar is now available in the Item Shop. This item allows a player to create a second Incarnation, but only after they have unlocked the ability to create their first Incarnation

-How i understood is that all people who got 1st reincarnation will be able to get 2nd by buying The Iridescent Jar.

Now im confused, what this part means:

• The Mysterious Seal is now available in the Item Shop. This will unlock the final prize of a World Mystery for an Incarnation, allowing a series of quests to be skipped. This is only available if the progenitor has already received this final prize.
Is the Mysterious Seal something for 1st or 2nd reincarnation?

-Can someone pls explain this?
