So you wanna be a Crafter?

First you'll need a Profession Book that can be bought at any profession npc.
Image
You will also use your professions main 'tool' from this same vendor depending on your level.
Image
Left click on the tool to open up its interface. Doing this will also open your inventory.
Image
Open up your list of craftables by checking the Recipe Book box.
Image
Drag and drop the materials you want to use and select the item you want to craft.
Image
This is what the Item Randomizer Interface looks like. I will describe all of the boxes and how to use it.
Image
The key I will use for this image will be left to right, top to bottom.
| 1 | 2 | 3 |
| 4 | 5 | 6 |
Box 1 is Complexity Enhancement, this adjusts what item is made, since there are different grades of what you can make.
Box 2 is your Success Rate Enhancement, the chance that you will fail to make the item you are crafting.
Box 3 is your Quality Enhancement, this effects the actual item itself, for example you could try to make an advanced lock, but only make a simple lock because the Quality Enhancement was too low.
Box 4 is Complexity Reduction, Ideally you want a 0 or a -1 for this box. It will reduce Box 1's amount by the number displayed.
Box 5 is Success Rate Reduction, again you want a 0 or -1 in this box in order to make the item. It will reduce Box 2's amount by the number displayed.
Box 6 is Quality Reduction, 0 or -1 preferred to make sure it doesn't turn into a <failed item> which in black smithings case, is a rusty nail. It will reduce Box 3's amount by the number displayed.

Here we have a successful craft.

Here we have a failed craft.(intentional ^^)

You are now a Crafter! Good luck in the World of Allods!

The dice are just to random your boxes, and the items I'm not really sure of, just a graphic of your odds I suppose.

Could you add some details on the finished item's stats? As a tailor, I find that I always either create the exact same item, or a failure (Getting negative numbers). Additional pluses don't seem to result in a better-quality item (I got one with +3 on all slots, which gave the same result as any +1).

Hey man nice guide! You should throw it up on the wiki after a little refinement.

As for a sticky I say /signed!

Good Luck and thanks for the hard work!

Not sure about tailoring, I've only done blacksmithing and I'm all out of mats to do the high level testing.

As I would imagine, higher overall quality value = better item.

Also worth mentioning, better quality results will use up extra materials, and lower quality ones (Mostly failures) will not use all the materials from the average recipe.

I'm curious as to whether getting higher numbers increases the chances of leveling up crafting. Worth pursuing?

I've actually toyed with that, if you get a high enough quality value, it will bump you to the next rank of the item you are making and use the materials for it. Regardless of whether you have the crafting skill required which usually results in a rank up.
