lol Rules havent change so stop fooling yourself. Guy who already has 3x13 runes can buy himself a full set of lv10 runes for a fraction of one l13 rune price. Astral / dc / ac will require same amount of $ and outcome will be the same every time. p2w players will own "oh just let me play for free" players on any server every single time.

This is how this game was designed so dont fight it.

I like how you think someONE who has lvl 13 runes would just spend $3000 to get a set of tens, abandon their current character and probably best in the server guild to just go on a new server and start over. The guys with level 13s are not going to be top players on the new server. They are top players here, they have no reason to do that.

Really, I can't see the "top" players spending thousands more to make powerful characters on the new server. They have already sunk costs into their existing characters, and considering how long it takes to upgrade gear in Astral.

Besides which they are so far removed and out of touch with what it means to be a new player, starting a new character from scratch would be too much of a shock for them.

My concerns have less to do with the remote possibility of a group of heavy cash shoppers becoming Overlords of Avilon and more to do with a significant minority of moderately or mediocrely runed players who have not reached endgame and are now trapped on Yul. :(

Sadly I can see already how this will affect the people who play on Yul.

It's likely newbies and 'mediocre' players will advocate the new server as a less p2w approach. So the old server will see less players generated until the new server shows its true colors. What is the point of the new server with such a small population?

Inevitably all servers on Allods will have elite players.

When I started Allods, before the first astral ship was finished building, there was already a group of elite players who rushed to endgame. With the progression of cash shop this has become more pronounced. Avilon will be hit harder because gem shards are transferable and because 'seasoned' players know what to expect in terms of leveling and gear progression. They will rush to endgame twice as quick.

It will still be hardcore players vs newbies and their skill+funds will determine the battle every time.

All assumptions/predictions aside, its a good idea for the new players.

Ok now will this post disappear also?

Yes this new 'untainted' server probably will facilitate the development of endgamers (cuz you know...new players won't become as frustrated or dispirited) for a while but I can't help but think this is a short sighted (and greedy) solution. If there is an inherent problem that serves as a deterrent for new players staying, then creating a new server will not solve it-as it is a problem with the design itself. Eventually the same problem that plagues Yul will infest the new server and you'll be back at square one.

The game hardly has the population to split (again)-wasn't that why there was a server merge in the first place? I hope they thought this through-essentially creating a server for new players will promote stagnation on Yul...that being said I will be going to the new server (here's hoping it won't be a ghost server), until it becomes p2w.

Maybe then I can get beyond lvl 29 before running into lots of reincarnations and think....how long will it take to be on the same playing field-this is pointless

It's not just about cash shop, It's about the gear. Sure, people will rush to end game and start gearing up faster than others, but they won't have the months head start that they have now(even cash shop will take a bit to accumulate)

Personally, I can still have fun PvPing and Astraling with people who out rune me(I've been doing it since day one), as long as the gear difference isn't to large. In YUL, it's hard to even find a group for astral early sector's that isn't going to fail miserably. Not sure if the same will happen on Avilon in only a month or two, but I do feel like Avilon has a chance of getting a good steady increase of new players as long as the brand new server is advertised well enough.

Hopefully next expansion will not keep this clear cut astral progression that causes factions within the end gamers. All end gamers should have no trouble doing end game together, not be punished for going with someone not as geared as them.

That's not correct.
There is more benefit to high runes than better gear.
Inspect some people in skirmish some time.

This is probably the best that the GMs can do. They have no clout over the Russian developers so the fundamental game design won't change.

All the OP cash-shopped players on Yul are trolling around feeling superior, but a new server is probably the only way to keep new players playing at this stage. Because once they get tired of being stomped by OP cash players, they will just not play at all. A new server with everyone on the same starting point makes the game accessible for new players.

Been around here slightly longer than you. I've been someone equality geared with the best but without the high runes and cash shop items. Of course it's not completely equal, but If you have the gear, you still stand a chance.

Gear matters a [I Have a Potty Mouth] load more than the difference between 7's and 10/11's. Unless of course you are talking about the difference between 1's and 10's.

Cash shop gap is increasing, but equal gear = better playing field.

Also, you are underestimating the time it took for these people to accumulate all of the runes and cash shop items.

In a new server, new people should have more people to match up directly with them. Even the people who only put in a little money greatly outgear any newbie on YUL after they've been playing for two years now. You'll still have some Cash shop strong people on a new server, but most people will be on the same level.

This^ exactly. There will be people who power grind, or put in the money to be p2w, but a server that doesn't have veterans who have been playing the past few years, as well as no veteran guilds that own the playing field simply by being more experienced, is entirely beneficial to the new players.

Some problems will carry over no matter what you do though, that's just the nature of the big, bad, beastly beast machine. :D
