Huge FPS drops

Postby phoenixsl » Sun Jun 24, 2012 12:50 pm

I have an AMD HD Radeon 6990 with a 3ghz quad-core processor and 8g RAM (Which i can run BF3 on ultra setting just fine at max fps)

For some reason my FPS drops to 15 when i play Allods on 4th video setting, any suggestions?

Allods has issues with multi-core processors. For the most part Allods only uses a single core, so your 3 GHz processor only has a tiny percentage of that used; you'll need to force Allods to use the entire processor to run smoothly.

For the video card issues on specific textures, this is often related to corrupted files in the Character and Creature pak files. (Instead of reinstalling, just move these .pak files from your AllodsOnline/data/Packs/ to the desktop and make the launcher replace it. Don't forget their _1's as well.) However, there are a few textures that are slightly damaged in general corrupted or not; these textures will result in issues for some users.

I use a much older and weaker Radeon card than you but I have no issues running the game on the highest settings.

I'm interested in this too...

AMD Phenom II x4 3.2ghz
16gb ram
GeForce GTX 560 Ti (448 core)
64bit OS

..... and Allods is running like it has a flat tire. WTB a fix.

Yeah, my game is still lagging it up.
When i log in im running 200+FPS, right until i click the check button to actually get in-game, then it drop to 15-20.

I still do not understand.

CTRL-ALT-DEL, then right click AOGame.exe in the Processes, click Set Affinity... and select all your CPUs. Right click AOGame.exe again and select Set Priority > and set it to something higher than just Normal, I usually do Realtime if I'm in a raid. The second part of this advice is dangerous and I would advise taking step up precautions by testing your computer's ability to handle each priority before Realtime.

Even then, it might not use all four cores. There was some more advice in a Technical Support thread a while back.
