Just about nine in the morning now (my bed time, sorry I'm not normal!) and I'm going to wish you all a good night. Just be happy you haven't spent any money yet I suppose, imagine if you had paid these steep prices only to be left with out a server for 6+ hours.

*edit* I really hope this maintenance don't become a daily thing, the timing seems to overlap my preferred playtime :(

Oh wow.. I was hoping such a good game wouldn't turn into one of those illusionary P2p games.

*headdesks*

Man, it was going good too. Well I'll stick around for awhile to see where this goes.

I should probably mention that since this is international. Not everyone uses USD.
The exchange rate from MYR (malaysian ringgit) to USD is intense. No WAY I'm going to pay that much money.

Please, reconsider the suggestions here. It's a good game, it shouldn't be ruined by insane prices.

*shrugs* Anyway, peace yall =D

I'm with ya :] rofl. (It was probably a mod...)

Its the CEO of gpotato, hiding under whatever bridge he lives, groping away blindly at his keyboard as his eyes can percieve nothing but money. What's that??? Oh, this just in... even the CEO is furious at the prices!!! He makes millions of dollars a year but, unfortunately, it is not enough to allow him more than a few months time of balanced PvP. There's only 1 explanation... the Rapture is coming. None shall be able to buy or sell or raid or pvp unless they bear the potato-y mark of the beast. The price, you ask???? Why... only your soul.

And with that sleep-deprived response I bid you all a fond adou.

Re: Subscription or Cash Shop?

I'd subscribe if they charged half what WoW costs, since basically this game offers half (and that being overly positive) what WoW does.

The people I really feel sorry for are the devs. They put hard work into something cool and it gets borked by suits focused on the bottom line.

Ive been loving this game and telling all my "other game" friends. Now the servers are up and cash shop has got everyone up in arms. I have no desire to play a game that will be dead in a month.

So much potential too. /sad

Wow omg $20 to get the bag from the Almost for Free quest, [I Have a Potty Mouth]? Sure its a pain to do the quest but $20 is just stupid. Do they want the game to fail?

Why is it that the people pricing these things have no concept of economics? Its really very simple, the lower the price of something the more of that item people will buy. Its usually not a completely linear relationship, so if it is cheaper much more is purchased. When you have a virtual item that costs absolutely nothing in marginal costs to produce, the price should be almost free if they want to maximize profit, because you want to set the price where costs = revenue.

I was going to get some GP and buy a couple things, but now I wont because my money wont get me anything.

Sad to see a good game ruined. Its not even greed either, they would make more money if they were smart.

Gpotato has ALWAYS f*#&^# up cash shop items either with the sheer quantity needed to be usefull or the overpriced crap. The FoD mechanic seems to have been made by a bunch of idiots only and i mean ONLY implemented to give them someway to make money from the overpriced perfumes etc. Truly this game has started on the wrong foot pissing off more than enough players to impact the game negatively.
Go on keep chasing players away from the game... first useless fatigue system to the obviously nonsensical FoD mechanic to the overpriced cash shop CRAP. :!: :|

The idea of a Cash Shop system in a F2P game is to offset the revenue lost from Subscriptions. With such a system the goal is to make more money overall than with a subscription base.

The problem is the game developer must find a common ground where they are offering something to put the player near the same level of service and playability as a subscription base for around the same price. When you add up the game features of the CS it's designed to make a larger revenue, but it should not amount to 10 times the cost of a subscription to come up with the same services.

Then you look at the fact that about 5-10% of your player base will use a CS. The goal should be to make every bit of CS $$ as possible. When prices are low, players will buy things on a whim more often. When you have high CS prices you eliminate potential sales. This isn't like a retail store where the shop has to clear the price of the product to turn a profit. CS sales are nearly 100% profit minus processing fees. The virtual items you purchase are limitless. If you sold 10,000 +6 bags @ $5 each you would have $50,000 from it. @ $20 each you might sell 100 in the same time frame and only make $2,000.

Some people argue that the game has to pay for it's servers and game development. This even furthers the argument that lower prices will provide higher return thus pay for the servers and game development faster.
