Just want to add that I don't even need to pay to play unlimited PvP. Warhammer Online (which I think had some of the best pvp combat) now has the unlimited free trial meaning you can rank up a toon to ten and pvp (and pve) as much as you like in the first zone for nothing. I bought and played the game at release and it was fun but there just wasn't enough to it. However I still can play that game and get a more rewarding/less restricting pvp experience with a trial account. Matter of fact I still do that when I need a good PvP fix. :)

What I'm saying is if they want my money here they are going about it the wrong way. I'm not paying (likely more then a sub price) just to PvP. More specifically to die in PvP. That just adds unneeded frustration.

Also if all they can give us is six slots for $20 then I'm going to /sigh over that too. I was all set to deck out my three characters with big bags/banks, but I can only imagine what the 36 slot would cost if these prices are accurate.

Hate to seem like I'm whining, I'm not trying to sound cheap. I just look at things as a critical consumer, and there are games out there right now which can satisfy my wants for more reasonable prices. I really like this game and see enormous potential in it, just seems like the Dev's saw that same potential, got full of their own hype and greed took over. :|

Pfft, If I lived in New Zealand I'd be out rock climbing instead of being extorted by this game. xD I feel ya though.

You get over it if you live here lol ;D

But yeah, is it really reasonable to expect to pay $13.50 worth of Perfumes which will allow you to PvP without penalty for 10 hours at max level when you can subscribe to games which offer as many bags as you can carry, around the clock balanced PvP and no ridiculous Fear of Death debuffs for $14.95 which covers a whole month and doesn't limit you to ten hours?

Is it reasonable to charge $20.00 for six more slot upgrade to your regular game when you can also subscribe to another game for $14.95 and get this included in the package?

I realize that other sub games have an initial fee of $50 to purchase the game, but this is just ridiculous...

Lol, basically we're on the same page :)

Before we get all up in arms, lets give them a chance to adjust the shop. it's just now become operational. I mean the worst case scenario I see is them not changing the prices and no one buys anything, game tanks.

Or

They understand that when there is demand on something that is in infinite supply they can maximize profits by offering these items at a reasonable cost and will stand to profit much more as a result. After all there is no cost to these items, merely a price.

Current prices are ludicrous

OR

When I make a thread calling them out for it they delete it and try to suppress any outward vocations about their horrible decisions ;P Then the game tanks.

Subscription or Cash Shop?

Postby dalgrund » Fri Feb 19, 2010 5:15 am

Just out of interest.

Would you prefer to see a subscription based payment method comparable to other MMOs on the market, allowing for the FOD mechanic and associated perfume requirement removed rather than the current implementation of the cash shop?

If they care about the players and there's enough of an outcry, they will listen.

Here's the thing: It shouldn't be "comparable" to other games in the market because then there would be no incentive to play this. If this game looks like WoW, and if it PLAYS like WoW, but it's More expensive? Guess what I'm not playing!

The values currently in game are not random and placed there at a whim. They're not related in any way to the Russian version, they are what they are and provide us with a glimpse at what the company thinks people will pay for their crap. No doubt some will, but I certainly wont and it's safe to assume I won't be alone in this. There is zero chance that an experienced company like this left arbitrary values just sitting in the cash shop.
