Nevermind, I was overlooking the explode damage, and it's pretty cheap to spam & spamming can land putrefy with withering touch. Great spell, nothing more to see here, I'm a newb, move along.

I am tempted to get Howl of Death first, Neurotoxin isn't impressing me. Am I missing something here?
