If you know what you're doing more often than not.

But also vesper, Im talking PVE. In PVP I use mainly shred for the SP nukes, and reserve Rip for silence; if the enemy isnt targeting you, then yah Ill try both Shred/Rip.

Yes, like nuk3zord7 said, far more often than not. The other nice thing about Rip is that after you successfully pull off a Shred OR Rip on any target that has been Searing Pain'd, you get something called a Lightning Link buff, which greatly increases the chance for your next lightning strike/flash to unbalance your target. This lets you restart your rotation pretty much instantly. If you didn't have Rip, the guaranteed knockdown>OW>SP would most likely fade by the time your Shred cooldown was finally up, which means you'd have to try and proc knockdown manually again-- slowing you down and decreasing your DPS.

That's another reason why I prefer Lightning Flash R3 to Mangle R3. Lightning Flash R3 gives a 100% chance for knockdown to proc after Lightning Link, as opposed to the 70% KD chance of Lightning Strike R3. With Flash, if my pet doesn't miss with its attacks, I can easily keep up a continuous Shred/Rip rotation until my pet runs out of energy.

Btw, with all 3 Battle Training rubies, the CD on Shred would be 10.5 not 7 seconds. With both Shred and Rip, I find that I don't really need the CD rubies at all (I wouldn't ever take more than one, anyway).

i will aim for a 61 point build because that's standard 51 without any scrolls and junk so should i lose the r2 upgraded maul and get rip? would only be r2... i don't really see anything else that can be removed.

lol get rid of chomp. That thing is a huge waste of pet energy; in the majority of cases, you're much better off focusing on single target damage.

R2 mangle is a waste, since r3 of basic maul does more damage.

i've never used chomp, but i want an AoE and i hear chomp is decent. after playing as a scout, not having an effective aoe is crap. i dislike bear's blow because you have to be close and i want to basically be able to just stay back and not attract as much attention.

i guess r2 rip is better than r2 mangle. i didn't actually look at the stats because it's in russian but i assumed it would be a minimal increase over r3 maul.

Wardens are damn effective without one.

You can change the language from Russian to English in the top right corner.

Honestly Chomp isn't that bad, and I agree that sometimes it's just really damn nice to have an AoE of some kind. The main reasons why I dislike it are that 1) It's a huge hog of pet energy, and SP builds burn through energy quick enough as it is (plus the cooldown is pretty long, making it even more meh) and 2) I usually just plain don't have the points for it. If you can fit it in, it's alright, but imo a far better option for a Warden AoE is Bear's Blow as a melee.

I promise that you'll still be able to kill stuff just as fast without it. Maybe even faster, actually, since you'll be more focused on quickly DPSing down single targets which is what we're really good at.
