Melee Priest (need help)

Anyone that could give me a build for a melee priest? Am kinda confused atm wether I should take some healing spells or take the damaging spells. Also is a shield+one hander the best combination for a melee priest?

I want a solo PvP build and dish out as much damage as possible while still be able to heal myself.

btw: Do I still need to take Faith as one of my primary stats and bring it down to 0% as a melee priest? Would be really helpfull if you could post the stats from most important to less important.

Can't decide wether I should be a Kenian or Elf priest? Both racials are nice, but the elven seems to be superior in PvP or am I mistaken?

From what I read on the melee-priest forums(RU) this is the build for PvP.

You should take some healing spells. However, I'd suggest to take that Holy Lightning(or w/e its called) and keep it on precast.

If your goin out there as a melee-priest then a good 2-hander is a must. You will find that you will start to 1 shot stuff as you farther down the road.(assuming your stats are balanced(Perception=Wisdom>Faith=Intelligence)

As for race, Kanian priests live longer. Elven ones set up a dot that slowly tortures their opponent to death(assuming they DO die).

If you want to be offhealing then i Suggest you keep a offheal set in your bank. For your solo stuff, you should keep your faith aroun 30-20% ish. If you can, make it 0, but it isnt a must till you bring out you healing set to go do an instance.

Heres what I meant.
you primary stats will be Perception(so they wont dodge/parry/block your attacks) and Wisdom(to reduce their armor). Your secondary stats will be Faith(you're only going to be healing your self so you dont need to overdose on it.) and Intelligence(still important but Wisdom and Perception is more so)

You should keep your Perception about the same as Wisdom(hence Per=Wis) and more of it then of Faith and Intelligence(hence > ).

Now I didnt mention this the first time, but one of your primary stats should be Luck. It is very difficult to find it for high level plate though for some reason.

It's kinda hard to find Perc + Wisdom gear, it's mostly perc + faith. My highest stats atm are perc and faith, I've 0 luck on my gear. but I added 2 points manually. My wisdom is ok, but I didn't get it when you said that wisdom lowers the enemy's armor, because the description says that it's only for your mana bar and mana regeneration. Also how do I get luck to be my primary stat if I can't find any luck on gear.

btw: when do priests get to wear leather and when do they get to wear plate? If it's that hard to get it on plate gear, what should I do to get it?

I'm only level 8, almost 9 atm.

EDIT: I keep dieng at level 8, can't seem to kill mobs 1 level higher than me and my heals suck

Priest wear leather from 10, plate from 30.
Yea, I know that Luck is hard to find. You will just have to hunt it down somehow.
Because priests dont use melee stats, their casting ones are thier melee.
Wisdom = Finesse
Preception = Expertise
Intelligence = Strength
Luck = Luck

about 2 weeks ago when I started this game I was putting my stat points into expertise (my 1st pally) and perception (any non melee). When I kinda fifured out what was going on, I re rolled and placed all my ponts into luck.

The largest problem I am finding with hybids like the Mpriest and MDruid, is that gear is non WISDOM supportive.
Most WISDOM hear comes with rubbish stats that im not sure anyone uses. So I found alot of the time Id end up with decent WISDOM, so so perception, barely any int, and tons of stam (at level 15 Mpriest has 83 stam.....)

As of yet I still dont know how to get gear that supports the class. But I am clearly going to have to sacrifice 1 stat, and hopefully some kind alchemist will start making potions.

In the meantime--Im playing a hybrid dual wielding paladin that spams 170 to 1300 heals every ret swing=)

Well, it's more that the auction house sends potions into a black hole, so alchemists can't sell their wares as easily as other craftsmen.
