Time to crossover to melee?

Time to crossover to melee?

Postby the_mean_dean » Thu May 24, 2012 8:00 am

so i'm a lvl 38 ranged scout and i've been doing a lot more pvp or at least a lot of dueling in arena lol....but i feel confident against a lot of classes except for pet classes like shaman and summy. The other day i must've fought a summy like 25-30 times and couldn't kill him once, it was pretty embarrassing, so i'm wondering if i should respec to melee. I really don't want to go melee cuz i have a ton of fun playing ranged. anyway, i know also this upcoming patch is going to change a few things but any advice?

Dueling in the arena as a ranged Scout is like trying to climb a tree as a fish.

Ranged Scout needs to abuse his range to be able to defeat most classes and pet classes are always annoying. In the arena you won't be able to do this. Try to have the player and the pet tranquilled at all times so it does not reach you. Also always keep Incendiary Arrowx3 on the player. Caltrops also helps a lot. Everything else is just hoping for Double Shot to refresh

But wait it gets better! Warden pets bug sometimes being untargetable

But Warriors/Pallies/Bards/Melee Scouts basically have no chance in and ideal environment for you (1vs1, endless flat plane)

Ranged Scout requires a lot of awareness in mass PvP or you will be just destroyed as soon as someone gets close.

My advice: Wait until the patch hits, then maybe we get a WoD or even FoD.

Showing us your build would also help: http://www.allodsbase.com/calc#

here's my build pretty much exactly....

i don't have my range rubies yet so i don't have the advantage of staying out of their casting range...but like i said i'd rather stay ranged unless is crap end-game....

thanks for the help
