Melee is a spec for scouts in the new expansion: Game of Gods. Melee scouts rely on stuns and are feared for those. Melee scouts are able to knock the enemy down and keep them on the ground while they do great damage. The melee scout deals less damage than the ranged scout, but has more stuns and survivability then a ranged scout.

Melee scouts are all about quick attacks, so it's required to use a dual wielded weapon, such as paired swords, sword and dagger or paired maces. It is not recommended to use a 1 handed weapon, since the attack speed is a lot less.

Racials:

Kanian ranger:
Image Explosive shot: Shoots a fireball at a chosen location dealing massive damage to everyone in that area.

Credits to Inferno (Kellii ingame) for the icon and discription

Xadagian stalker:
Image Sinister Throw: Throws a bunch daggers in front of the target, doing good damage to everything in front of the scout.

Orc marauder:
Image Mighty Leap: Allods the scout to leap forward for 30 yards.

Gibberling trickster:
Image Crafty Snare: Throws a net at the target, making it impossible for them to move for 5 seconds.

PVE:
STR: Put all points into stats as long as the other stats are fine.
EXP: Not more then 10%.
FIN: 10-15% increase is good enough for PVE.
LUCK: 45-50% is good enough. There are rubies to increase the change + you can buy a +60 luck potion very cheap.

Melee scouts have different attacks than ranged, obviously. Here is a list of the main skills you will use as a melee scout.

Image Sambo Roll: sambo roll is one of the main skills of the melee scout. This skills lets the scout roll behind the target, knocking them down for 2 seconds and doing decent damage.

Image Lunge (Upgrade skill: thrust): spammable dps-skill does good damage, low energy cost.

Image Crippling Blow: Spammable DPS skill that adds a bleeding effect to the target, good damage, low energy cost.

Image Furry Blades: Stunlock skill, deals very high damage and keeps the target on the ground when stunned. Has a high energy cost and a 30 seconds cooldown.

Image Quick Attack (Upgrade skill: Blink Attack): Makes you flash to your enemy and deal decent damage.

Image Caltrops: Throw marbles on the ground that knocks everyone down that moves in them. Has a 30 seconds cooldown.

Image Vanish: Makes you invisible for 12 seconds. Has a 3 minutes cooldown. The duration and cooldown of this skill can be adjusted by rubies.

Image Aura of Restoration: Resores 12% energy and 1% mana every 8 seconds to the whole party.

Image Smoke Cloud: Spawns a cloud which hides all things inside from the outside. Has a 1,5 minutes cooldown. This skill is unlocked in the Tranquil Arrow rubie-tree.

Image Razer Rush: A area of effect-attack that deals good damage and has low energy cost. This skill is unlocked in the lunge rubie-tree.

Playing as a melee scout, it is obvious that you need to keep your enemy down. Melee scouts have the possibility to stunlock an enemy. This requires the right timing and energy. If you do not have enough energy and you fail to keep the enemy down, you have a lot more change to die. Remember, scouts wear leather armor and are squishy. "Kill the enemy before they can attack you".

There are multiple rotations to use depending on the state you are in. If you are in long range, start off with Quick Attack (Blink Attack if upgraded) to get to the target. Then use Sambo Roll to knock the enemy down. Make sure you use your mouse to face the enemy and use Furry Blades right away to stunlock your opponent and deal great damage. Some classes will already die at this points. Especially squishy classes such as other scouts or wardens may be dead at this point. If not, use Caltrops to make sure the enemy does not escape and knock them down again. Now use a Crippling Blow for the bleed effect and spam Razer Rush and Lunge (Thrust if upgraded). Remember to use Sambo Roll when the cooldown is over to stun the target again.

This is your main rotation that you need to use in order to keep the enemy down. Xadagian scouts can use their Racial Ability to get some extra dps.

Melee Scouts are very helpfull in PVE. Just like in PVP, melee scouts can stunlock monsters in pve. Unfortunantely, melee scouts have a harder time at non cc-able monsters like the red ring/blue ring monsters in astral. Versus normal monsters, the rotation showed above works perfectly. Those monsters are very squishy and can be easily killed. The scout plays a big part by making sure the monster is knocked down and remains stunned, while the party is able to kill the other monsters or dps the monster you knocked down.

Melee scouts may have less dps than ranged, we are still one of the best damage-dealers in the game. Our spammable skills deal a good deal of damage and even furry blades works perfectly fine against non cc-able monsters, by providing a good deal of damage. There is not really any rotation on bosses, since they are immune to cc, so it's just a matter of spamming your skills, keeping your bleeds up.

Like i said earlier, scouts are still squishy, so watch out for aoes. They can be very dangerous and a melee scout often dies from them. If a monsters uses an aoe, use recoil to take your distance and start using steady shot and double shot (both rank 1) to continue dps and wait for a heal. This will not nearly do as much damage as your close combat attacks, but it is necceceraly to stay alive and still do some damage.

Also, remember to use your matyr healing skill and beers at the right time. Those are the only heal a scout has, so don't waste them. In 3.0 beers have a 5 minute cooldown.

Melee scouts really stand out in PVP. Many classes fear the almighty pvp scout because of the stunlock. Melee scouts are deadly assasins that are easy to get into, but hard to master. This may seem a bit strange, but without good timing and energy use, a melee scout doesn't stand a change.

The rotation used above is required in pvp. Using sambo roll and furry blades is needed in order to keep the opponent knocked down. Remember that a melee scout is made to battle in 1 versus 1, since we can only stunlock one enemy at once. Scouts are still squishy and when facing multiple enemys it is often required to run away, vanish and charge and enemy. Running away can be done in multiple ways: smoke cloud for example is a great way to lose the attention of your oponent. Bu using smoke cloud, you are invisible to anything outside of the cloud, meaning that enemys who have you targetted, will lose you.

As a melee scout it is important to chose who to attack. Squishy classes are recommended to attack, since they have less health then let's say a healing class or a tank. Especially scouts and wardens are easy targets, but keep in mind that fighting another scout is dangerous, since they have the very same stuns that you have.
A lot of people use the healers bubble skill in pvp to heal themselves and avoid your stuns. It is very recommended to run away from the healer and use smoke cloud to vanish. This way you can wait untill the bubble is over and start your stunlock again.
The rhino mount is also a very good aspect in PVP. Use the rush attack to rush to the target and stun them, then use the rotation above and when they try to escape, you have Deathly Rush without any cooldown.
