New player looking for a few opinions on class selection.

So just started the other day, and having alittle trouble deciding what I want to play, so wanted to get a few opinions of the community on helping me choose a melee dps class, since they are the kind of classes I tend to enjoy the most in other games.

What I look for is survivability in solo/grinding/leveling, mobility and decent to high dps in endgame/groups. Of course don't let that limit anyone's suggestions either, if you think it's fun say it and I'll look into it!

There are only two melee DPS classes, Warrior and Paladin. After the 3.0 patch (2 weeks) there will be Melee Scouts...

Anyways, you will probably enjoy Warrior more, but we have way too many warriors...

Roll a warrior if you want melee it has all the stuff you want (good dps, good tanking, good cc, hardened target, etc). Don't worry about there being too many as Kane alluded to. Since paladins are going to be relatively extinct, warrior seems like the correct choice and groups setup with 2 are going to be fairly common in L4. Scout probably isn't a bad choice, but the warrior has the advantage of being a short-order tank with just 1 ruby in cruelty.

As a pally you'll get geared fast by an end-game guild though...

We're going to need pally tanks quite a bit for this upcoming patch.

And ya, there really are too many warriors.

Oh is this how it is on nezeb? On tensess empire paladins are the absolute last to get geared unless they hold the runes and skill to tank the whole allod themself. Scrub dps till you get geared to tank/dps better or don't go at all

In my old guild anyway -_- Pallys are usually the last choice if you don't have anymore dps available. That or you need to have friends that constantly go out and be the first they invite before filling the group. Every game has them

^ speaks truth, roll warrior. Honestly, the game will be better with more warriors. Chaos needs more warriors and probably ascendancy as well.

yeah well, paladins are a dying kind...

if you want a solid,tried out class, roll a warden
but if you want something fresh, and pure meele dps (like an assassin) better wait for them meele scouts..

We have a grand total of ONE active paladin in the guild, the other one is out of the country for business reasons.

But even then, that one is one of the best on the whole server and makes me proud when DPS'ing, tanking or PVP'ing!

I'd like if we had more of them.

Chaos needs more warriors and probably ascendancy as well.

No way! Ascendancy is about 50% warriors... not even joking. WTB paladins.

Side note: if you're a warrior, don't apply to Ascendancy.
