I don't understand the usefulness of this stat. Help?

Apparently, perception is useful for my class. But I don't understand why, can anyone explain it to me, please? It DECREASES my magical damage and healing! Why should I get a stat that decreases my powers?! O_o This game has the most confusing stats!

The more of perception you acquire, the LOWER the magical resistance is resisted.

Actually not all that confusing once you understand its format.
I personally like all the stat complications in Allods.
Way more fun.

Perception (from a DPS standpoint) is a rough approximation of the effect your target's resistance will have on your spells. The more Perception you have, the less they will resist.
